Shiny Magikarp And Gyarados Hunt

Shiny Magikarp and gyaradosAlong with the water festival which winds down in less then 24 hours Shiny Magikarp and Gyarados have been released. This is not news at this point but for me, the hunt is still on because even with the large amount of Magikarp I have caught in the last few days, I have no Shiny to show for it.

What’s the big deal about Shiny Magikarp and Gyarados? Really not much other then they are pretty rare and will probably become even more rare when the water festival ends.

The festival only had enough time for one weekend and due to a busy work schedule and super crappy weather I only got to hunt close to home. Sunday was more winter like then spring and rainy so there was no way I was hitting the local hot spot at the harbor.

This weekend of course is going to be pretty nice out but, the event will be done by then. I may still try and hit the harbor just to see if there is a better chance of getting a shiny Magikarp and Gyarados but I have a feeling chances are pretty slim.

So far during the water festival I have been able to catch about 30 Magikarp just between work and home so at least I got a nice bump on Candy in case I do get a shiny. The event ends mid day tomorrow though so I probably will not have much of a chance at the Shiny.

There are more Shiny Pokemon set to be released but there is still no official announcement as to when that will happen.

I personally like to try and have at least one of each Pokemon in storage, not just in my Pokedex so ultimately I would like to get 2 Shiny Magikarp so I can evolve one into a Shiny Gyarados. We will see how hard they are to find after the festival ends.
